Revolutionary Destiny

Well, well, it’s almost here. The long awaited, often discussed, conjunction of Uranus in Taurus (learn more about Uranus in Taurus here: https://www.theclevelandshaman.com/post/it-s-electrifying )with the north node of the moon. Uranus conjunctions to the north node of the moon occur every 15 years. These conjunctions trigger Uranian themes such as breakthroughs, upsets, reform, volatility, and awakening… just to name a few. With Uranus being the modern ruler of the 11th house in astrology, we can also expect these themes being directed toward groups of people and communities. Sometimes these transits are marked by correlated events occurring the day of the actual aspect, but in reality, it marks the beginning of events being set in motion that will unfurl for the next 15 years.

What makes this particular conjunction even more potent is the addition of Mars joining the party on August 1st, at the same time this fearsome trio will be square to a retrograde Saturn in Aquarius. (Learn more about the Saturn/Uranus Square here: https://www.theclevelandshaman.com/post/clocks-vs-vortexes-part-one ) Talk about your volatile combination… As a refresher, squares are agents of friction, they push for an action to take place, and pose as antagonists for growth. When the progressive, innovative, original thinking, and freedom seeking energies of Uranus lock horns with the fixed thinking, traditional, highly structured, and authoritarian energies of Saturn, expect the tensions that ensue to be dramatic and deeply impactful. Last year, 2021, there were three exact squares occurring on February 17th, June 14th, and December 24th. This year this same square is within orb all year but never reaches exact, but coming within 1 degree between October 1st – 12th.

Looking a little more acutely now at the triple conjunction of Uranus, the North Node, and Mars in Taurus we can divine a range of potential influences. Taurus themes of course being the focus. A fixed earth sign, the natural energy here is one of stability and resistance to change. The impulse is for object constancy and material security. The Taurean motif adds a thread connecting to matters associated with finance (securities, currencies, cash, profit and loss), farming (and consequently, food), livestock, possessions of all kinds, pleasure, values (material and self), culture (art, music, dance) and the feminine (Venus is the ruler of Taurus). When Uranus visits this sign, affairs such as these are upended, reformed, and reimagined. Uranus is a catalyst for change.

As Uranus conjoins the north node this represents the awakening of a destined path. Stepping off the sidewalk into unchartered territory. A classic feeling associated with the north node is one of discomfort, a place unfamiliar requiring us to think outside-the-box and do something unusual and original. Looking at this through a worldview lens, it seems collectively we will be experiencing an epoch where we feel drawn by some magnetic force asking us to reassess what we truly value, and what true security is really all about. This will likely be accompanied by disruptions and shocks coming to the world of all things financial (this actually began when Uranus entered Taurus in 2018, but now it takes on a more destined feel), with farming and food, in culture, and how we perceive and honor the divine feminine.

What makes this particular upcoming conjunction on August 1st so formidable is the presence of a forceful and driven Mars. This adds a fiery element to the trio making reactions potentially more warrior-like and when combined with Taurus energy more tenacious and determined. Because Mars (the god of war) can be rash and impulsive the potential exists that any Uranian events that might emerge get amplified quickly and have the potential to escalate. Anger is also a possibility as Mars stokes the flames of upheaval and change. Add a square to Saturn and its highly possible the battle between the old vs. new, progressive vs. traditional, and the boundaries vs. blurred lines becomes even more intense.

As always, I wish to conclude by reminding the reader that we are living in an enormously transformative time. It is in times like we have all experienced beginning with the pandemic in March of 2020 until present, we must have a “happy place”. I continue to urge everyone to have a daily practice that keeps you grounded and helps balance out the noise that exists… and will continue to exist as a process of awakening continues to unfold—complete with rebellion, disruptions, uncertainty, and bizarreness we have yet to experience. Please connect with the natural world as much as you can, this can and does much to calm and heal the soul. If you haven’t tried meditation, now might be a great time to give it whirl.

In conclusion I leave you with the entirety of a poem written by Max Ehrmann in 1927, Desiderata:

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender

be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;

and listen to others,

even the dull and the ignorant;

they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,

they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,

you may become vain and bitter;

for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;

it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;

for the world is full of trickery.

But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;

many persons strive for high ideals;

and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.

Especially, do not feign affection.

Neither be cynical about love;

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment

it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,

be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,

no less than the trees and the stars;

you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you,

no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,

whatever you conceive Him to be,

and whatever your labors and aspirations,

in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,

it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.
