I use an alliteration to begin today’s blog to bring emphasis. What I want to explore are those seemingly baked-in tendencies we have ranging from how we emote, communicate, learn, work, view risk, act in a relationship, adopt a belief, respond to crises, value possessions, and connect to spiritual matters. These are but a few of the areas where tendencies show up, there are others.
On some level, we often come face to face with our patterns. These encounters are sometimes painful as we sense our repetitive behavior in any given area of life might not be serving us well. Perhaps you have emotions that always seems to derail your ability to cope or move forward in some particular area of life. Perhaps work has become your total focus, or on the opposite end of the perspective, you find no interest or value in work. Maybe you are terribly frightened of taking any risks in life, stepping outside the box, while your older brother or sister climbs mountains around the world. For you, crises seem to be the norm rather than the exception. Whatever it might be, in your rawest, most honest moments, its undeniable you have distinct patterns.
When I was first introduced to natal Astrology, I was stunned by the accuracy and insight it provided to me in seeing where these proclivities, propensities, and patterns were in my own life. Prior to this I was “seeing through a glass darkly”. Essentially having an obscured and imperfect vision. My introduction to Astrology, remarkably, came during a lecture I attended by Dr. Robert Hand. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Robert Hand is one the foremost Astrologers in the world. At the end of this lecture, he called out to his wife at the back of the room for the name of one of us in attendance as he was going to do an interpretation of one of our charts as he concluded for the day. We had been asked to submit our birth data prior to the lecture, and I had done so not really knowing what for.
As you may have guessed, my name was called and Dr. Hand began. It took less than 2-3 minutes before I was all in. With pinpoint accuracy, he began to dissect my life. My emotional response to this was one that ranged from uncomfortableness to abject enchantment. How was he doing this? What were these strange symbols he was using? Who had he talked to that knows me because there was no way he could know that? As I left that lecture, and retrieved my car, I paused for probably twenty minutes in the parking lot pondering what I had just experienced. In that moment, I was initiated as a future astrologer.
Today, I am an astrologer. Now having studied, and met and consulted with hundreds of people, interpreting their natal charts, I can definitely say I have found no greater tool in helping one understand their truest nature. The depths that can be explored are seemingly endless and incredibly beneficial to anyone who wants to understand themselves better and what your unique gifts and challenges are. If you have never experienced a natal chart reading, I encourage you to consider it. It could be the key that unlocks the answers to questions you have wrestled with your whole life, “like why do I keep doing that?”.
